Receipe from Brandon!

Today was our lazing day! Me and Brandon don't wish to do anything at home except lying in my big bed... watching my Korean dramas whilst Brandon playing his PSP... what a wonderful Sunday! We simply love it and he so much wish every day is like today.. hahaha..

He was hungry this afternoon and most of our food are instant-made. I have instant noodles, porridge, mushroom soup, pratas, can food, biscuits etc. all are unhealthy food yet we like to eat them. He requested for a nice sandwich bread and he taught me how to make one. Recipe - Prepare 2 slices of bread and 1 cheesedale. Get a frying pan, heat up, put a little oil, throw 1 slice of bread first, heat for 5secs, leave the cheesedale on top of the bread, heat for another 5secs, flip it over and put another slice of bread underneath, heat for 10secs, there it goes our Cripsy Cheesy Fried Sandwich! I find it too plain, so I fried an egg and put in between. Yummy~ Brandon love it and finished the whole bread less than 10mins. ~I feel contented and happy

Ivi's newphew- JunJun's Birthday!

Its my first time ever invited my good friends with their children over my house. Only Ivi, she will bring her nephew, JunJun, and so coincidentally that today is also his birthday. I didn't buy him a birthday cake, instead I bought 6 lovely egg-tarts to substitute... not too bad! Brandon has never play or interact with so many boys at home, its also his first time to share all his games and toys with them. Most importantly, I want him to know how fortunate he is right now.

Another reason, due to my best friend, Vanessa, who has an autistic son named Josen. He was abit hurt by somebody who has shouted at him few weeks ago and I like to make him happy again. So, I invited the kids over so that they can have fun together. In the end, the boys did not do any arts & crafts as per my previous plan, they played Lego and PSP! Josen was absolutely curious Brandon's toys. One of them is the flying saucer which scared the hell out of Ivi!

By mid-day, Brandon was unhappy when Josen misplaced his toys. I do not hold anything against Josen as I'm well prepared and I fully understand how my son feels. I did my best and explained to Brandon about Josen. My only request from him is to show Josen more gracious and patience. My son misinterpreted his lost toy - 'Frisbees' as 'Boomerang'... Josen felt accused over this issue when Vanes kept asking him where he put the 'Boomerang'. Josen was upset as he never touch it until another boy told us, actually its 'Frisbees'! Josen right away showed his Mummy where he left it and he looked at him, telling him he's still upset! We finally got the picture, all toys were found. I talked to Brandon and I want him apologise and talk to Josen in a good manner. I'm so glad when both make up and be good again. I hope Brandon will learn more about caring and sharing in future.

E-Learning @ Home

Today is E-Learning day for my Baby, so no school for him. He has to complete his school work online thru E-Learning. Thanks to the advance technology, children are able to access their homework via Internet should there be any emergency, if they unable to attend the school. Brandon slept late last night to watch his favourite show, you can see him still snoozing away from above image.

I pity the primary students in Fengshan as I find this school too demanding for the academics. All students are being cultivate and segregate into different classes based on their results. It means, the lower your score is, the worse class you will be in. They set that kind of mentality to the poor kids that only the best of the best will be in 'A' / 'B' classes whereas for those who has average or below score, will go to 'C' / 'D' / 'E'/ 'F' classes. Indirectly, the school created the inferiority complex in those students who did not do well in their exams. At one point, some even accepted their fate and some even attribute it to their own personal fault that they cannot outwit the better ones. Its extremely traumatic if their parents add more pressure to their studies.

I also never really spare a thought for Brandon, how he's feeling or if he can cope with his school work. It also never cross my mind if I'm also one of the issue that affected Brandon in any way. I only assumed and expected he's old enough to think like an adult or behave like and adult. I shouldn't be like that and I must remind myself all the time, Brandon is only NiNe! At times, he needs our attention, our understanding when something is wrong or someone upsets him.

I am still learning how to be a good mummy... still learning how to get into my boy's own kind of world... still trying hard to bring myself to his level and understand what he really needs. Its never too late to try anything... I will continue to try harder and show him more patience.

Shocked!

These few days been busy with my Natas Fair, I didn't spend time with Brandon. So, I called him this afternoon to check on him. I was shocked and disappointed when Brandon reply me rudely! I'm upset with myself as I failed as a mother, for his bad manners. Its not a small issue that I can lightly put it aside. He is growing and learning every single day. If I continue to let him have his way, he will get worse or worst!!! Kids are so hard to teach nowadays~~~

His mid-year exams approaching, but he don't seems to care or bother about his studies. His action has  seriously affected me and I'm worried for him. Eventually, he will lose his motivation or worse, his self esteem! Without confidence, he will becomes lazy, start to tell white lies and many hidden secrets in his brain. Sometimes, I don't even understand why he becomes like that.  He may loses his confidence in most things, eventually mix with bad company and everything will be too late for me by then.

How should I help my boy???
